REGION:
STRATEGIC LOCATION
The southeast region of the Coahuila State
is conformed by 5 municipalities, which are Saltillo,
Ramos Arizpe, Arteaga, General Cepeda and Parras
de la Fuente. Saltillo,
State Capital of Coahuila, limits to the north
with the municipalities of Ramos Arizpe, Arteaga
and General Cepeda; to the east with the municipality
of Arteaga and the state of Nuevo León.
to the South with the states of Nuevo León
and Zacatecas and to the west with the state
of Zacatecas and the municipalities of Parras
de la Fuente and General Cepeda.
With a surface
of 6,837 square kilometers, Saltillo represents
the 4,51% of the total surface of the state.
To the west is located Playa Madero Mountain
rage, which also includes part of the southeast
of Parras de la Fuente. In the southwest is
located the Laurel mountain rage, which also
comprises of the mentioned municipality. The
mountain rage of Zapalinamé rises to
the east, and the Sierra Hermosa mountain rage
is located in the southwest. To the south are
the dam of San Pedro and Los Muchachos.
